:D! I was 'caught' going through one of my dresser drawers that once held clothes but now is full of yarn. I told him to go away and close his eyes. He just laughed. :hee Do you think it would be bad to put a layer of clothes on top of the yarn?

Not at all Donna, the layer of clothes will help protect your valuable yarn from dust

I went into full stash organization mode this week. It was bad. I dug out all those Walmart/Michaels/AC Moore bags that were tucked in various hiding places and layed it all out on the couch (and the loveseat...and floor...) to sort by type. I should have taken a picture. You all could have used it to show your husbands that you aren't *that* bad I have it all (ok...mostly all) in 4 large rubbermade tubs and a cute little cabinet I picked up at Target. I do want to take a picture of the cabinet, I'll do that tomorrow.

Closets? dressers?

errr... I've got a room :blush Well ok, shelves in a room full of yarn and closet filling up with completed dresses and boxes of baby ponchos, dog sweaters, eventually bags and purses as well ....:eek2

I get by with it though.. I just tell my husband that room needs to be tidied up.. and he stays far FAR away :D!

I'm not really hiding them, I just don't have a real idea place to store yarn. Or, let's say the few places I do have that are the best are crammed full so it spreads out a bit more than it should. He doesn't get upset, he just expresses surprise that I've got it tucked into so many different places. :))

My dh just kind of stares with his mouth ajar while I pull out baskets, tubs and bags full of yarn lol. He's really supportive of my crocheting, though I have to say that he'd probably like it much more if I didn't do it at all hours of the day and night!

I have guilt on my side as my husband has been home 3 1/2 months since our 1st wedding anniversary and that 3 1/2 months hasn't been all at once. He thinks this crochet is great so I am not miserable living in a foreign country taking care of ds. So I don't think he will object to my new addition of 10 kg of chenille on its way to add to the rest of my collection.....I hope. He will be home in a month in time for us to be posted again to another part of germany two weeks later. He isn't due to go anywhere until the fall....:clap .

I'm a BAAAD:sheep girl! My hubby was out of town for 4 days so I cleaned up my bedroom adn closets(we have 3 in our room). I had yarn shoved EVERYWHERE :ohdear . It's all organized now and labeled(kinda small so he doesn't realize what it all is:hee ) and one whole closet is full of yarn, plus 2 of those cardboard lingerie chests and a couple baskets under a bench with yearn specific to a project. I also have a small laundry basket labeled CHARITY with scraps and squares and various things. Luckily we only ever used the closet for storing luggage and gifts, so he stays out. While I was doing all of this I was tempted to take a photo, but then there would be a record of it. I was also going to count, but I don't really want to know!:help There's just too much!

I've got several totes, 1 big Huge tote, various closets, and containers on wheels that hold my yarn....The only thing my husband ever asks me to do is try to use what I have, and try to keep it in one place if at all possible. :rofl Yeah! Right! :lol I really need to go thru my stash, there is a lot of really old, really ugly, really nasty yarn that I don't want, and will never use, not even for charity. Hell, I wouldn't even make my dog something out of it! Blech...and then there are several projects that I need to frog 'cause they didn't turn out the way I wanted to...grr...but that's okay, I can reuse the yarn, but have you ever tried to pull out mohair? wow!

Ooh yes those fuzzy furry yarns are difficult to frog. I even have trouble w boucle I have to go really slow or I end up tearing the yarn.

Just a little update I have been a very very good girl I haven't bought any new yarn this year allthough I returned a couple of balls of fun fur for 3 skeins of baby yarn to be used for charity baby stuff.I've been using my stash for anything else.

i crochet everynight just about. even if its just for an hour. i have only been crocheting for a month and i already have this huge stash of yarn, patterns off the web, patterns that i copies from friends and about 6 books that i bought at a half off sale. i tried to stop buying yarn but then i went to the fabric store and they were getting rid of old merchandise to make way for new. guess what was on sale!! YARN! YES!! guess how much, never mind, i'll tell you. $.99 for lion brand chunky yarn. all pretty colors. so i bought alot.

My hubby told me him or the yarn.:blah I'm glad I kept the comfort. :knit A kid moved out, so his room is full of yarn now, so MY bedroom looks all neat and tidy. And I don't miss the hubby at all..... by the way, on a couple of posts I noticed "dh" is that for "dumb husband?" :wowdrool
