Buying yarn online..

I like Knitting Warehouse, too. Also, Joann.com has specials from time to time and free shipping on certain weeks. Herrschners.com is good, too, but can be pricey. I've also ordered Lion Brand yarn from Hancockfabrics.com and had good luck with them.

I order from Knitpicks and Knitting Warehouse and they are very good. My 3 favorites (depending on the sale week) are: http://www.pagelinx.com/cgi-shopper/loadpage.cgi/smileysyarns/ezshopper?user_id=id&file=iriot.htm

When they have sales, they have SALES! :D

Smileys and Webs are really fast too!

Oh my goodness, there are so many! I've been spending too much time looking at yarn online. It depends what kind of yarn you are looking for. If you are looking for the kind carried by big chains like Michael's and JoAnn, you can try smileysyarns.com (minimum $40 purchase + shipping) or knitting warehouse like others suggested. If you are looking for other things, I can personally recommend the service from littleknits.com, knitpicks.com, elann.com (i think this one is my favorite) and jimmybeanswool.com, and yarn.com. That last one, Webs, is usually (not always) a little pricier than the others, but if you can order $60 worth you get a 20% overall discount. But there are so many, I really want to buy from kpixie.com, but they never have a sale or free shipping or anything. I just got some KnitPicks Shine yarn yesterday (a cotton/modal blend, I think), and it is wonderful, so soft and with a nice sheen.

There are lots! I spend too much time looking at yarn.

I recently bought some yarn from Elann (www.elann.com), and had a great experience. The one thing that almost got me, is that since they are a Canadian company, if your order is over $200, you have to pay duty tax. But my order was a smidge under that, so I was good. Also, they have a warehouse in Seattle for shipping US, and they shipped it priority, which was great. Great prices, and for my needs, a great selection.

I just ordered my first yarn from elann, on Monday, and it arrived yesterday--2 days to process and arrive, wow. Gorgeous yarn! I just tried Webs this week, too, because I was trying to hunt down a particular yarn and they had it for 25% cheaper than anywhere else online. I haven't tried Smiley's, although I'm thinking of taking my mom there when I'm back in the NYC area next month. Knit Picks is next on my list of yarn suppliers to try. Ya'll are very, very bad on this board--I never ordered yarn online before and now I can't stop! :lol Ya'll are a bunch of enablers! :lol Patty

...I haven't done it yet, but I'm drooling over the yarn from Knit Picks.

I want to second (or third) the suggestion of Knit Picks. They have awesome yarn, great colors, high quality, and good service. However, they don't have any brands of yarn but there own. This isn't the place to go if you want to stock up on Caron or Lions Brand.
