Sweater...two sizes too big...

I made this for my neice for her birthday, but it's a bit too large for her right now. lol. I'm in the process of making her a new one right now.

It's ok to make a sweater for a growing baby a little big for them, that way they grow into it and can wear it longer. If you make it to fit, they will only get limited wear out of it before it becomes too small.

That's what I thought too! But by the time the body fits her perfectly, the sleeves will be WAY too short. So, what I'm doing now is making her a knee-length(for now) robe with a rope-tie, so that it'll still fit perfectly even as she grows. Right now, the sleevs fir perfectly, but the front is just way too big.

The beauty of crochet is as the sleeves get a bit short you can just crochet more to lengthen them........no sweat!!
