Home-made yarn winder - made out of lego!

Oh my. Here's a yarn winder that's made out of lego! Amazing.

 

Is this one of those things everybody else has known about forever, and I just somehow missed the news?

Very cool! Probably as expensive as a store bought one though. Legos ain't cheap.

Geeze that is awesome.. My son still have all of his legos etc.. Maybe I will have to get them out of the basement and make one..lol... He's almost 21 now so I really doubt that he would care.. Or I could wait for his visit this summer and he can make me one, he was and is always good at creating things like that.

This is something else!

I am still hoping to get a yarn winder some day. Right now, I use the back of two chairs to put the yarn on and then wrap by hand. My two cats are always going after the yarn as it unwinds from the chair.

Legos have gears too now in a lot of their kits.

Ha ha... I have kids (grown) and a big box full of legos and I'm happy as a lark that I have my $15 ball winder I bought on EBay!

 

That is so very cool, though. Like something my hubby would come up with!

That is TOO cool! We definitely have enough Legos around the house for that--when DD moved out she said we could do whatever we wanted with hers, give them to Goodwill or whatever, and I know we have gears, too. Hmm...
