New crochet nut in Yorktown VA

Hi everyone,

 

My name is Lisa. I'm a professional trainer, Microsoft Certified and the sort. I'm 50 years old and I've wanted to crochet since I was a little girl watching my grandmother. She tried to teach me several times but I'm seriously left handed and I just couldn't get it. One day shortly before Christmas a student and I were talking about crocheting and she suggested I try YouTube. I never knew! Within about 3 days I was making my first afghan. The entire thing was only single crochet but it turned out lovely. Now I have the bug. Yarn, patterns, and videos, oh my.

 

On a personal note, I am happily (most of the time) married. I have a son from a previous marriage that just turned 30. I also have 3 dogs that I absolutely adore. I have a German shepherd, a husky/shepherd, and a yorkie.

 

I look forward to many hours of crocheting joy and I'm excited that I've found this wonderful forum.
