A hat for the medieval faire

I was asked by a friend to make her a hat for a medieval faire she and her husband will be attending in February. She sent me a picture of a brimmed stocking cap and said that this was basically what she wanted. I searched everywhere but was unable to find a pattern so I just worked it up without one. Please tell me what you think.

I haven't written it up. I only finished it a few hours ago and am getting ready to attempt a pair of fingerless gloves to match. I may write it up at a later time though.
