What about amigurumi? Make it baby friendly of course but.... it would be something for a lifetime.

I made a mobile with flowers and butterflies for a baby girl. She really liked it. When she was switched to a "big kid bed" she still wanted the butterflies. So her mom took them off and used suction cups with hooks to hang them in her window. It's nice when someone loves your work that much :manyheart.

I made a blanket and used the leftover yarn to make my best friends little girl a teddy bear I've also made a stuffed dog before. Toys are always appreciated.
