Bookcover with bookmarker-pansy edition

This is an original design book cover I made for my mom for her birthday. Made out of #10 crochet cotton and the pattern kind of made up itself as I went along. What transpired was kind of like a vase. So after the main part of the book cover was made, I made up 3 pansies in various colors so that one would be on the front, one on the back and one would be used for the end of the bookmark that would be attached to the book cover.

 

The book inside is one of Debbie MacComber's Blossom Street books, which is really fitting as my mom is a big Debbie fan and I hang out at her yarn shop in Port Orchard, WA on Thursdays (although I have yet to meet Debbie myself.

It's very pretty! It will be handy having the bookmarker attached to the book cover, won't lose it that way. I'm always looking for my bookmarker.
