Well thank you all for such kind remarks! Your encouragements are always the best part of a completed project. Sure gives a person confidence.

I enjoyed making this pattern. It was so easy to follow. The colors. well, those are my favorite so they are always pleasing to my eye. I have another 2 bags almost finished in these colors but different patterns. One is for medium-large projects and the other will be for small carry along projects like doilies. I'll post those with info when they are done. Thanks again everyone.

John- Do not let others intimidate how you feel about crochet. I think it is admirable for a man of any age to enjoy fiber arts as much as anyone else!

As far as a pattern: I really like this shoulder bag pattern and plan on making a few myself (Of course I am partial to it because I love the name as I lived next door to Monterey for years-LOL):
