You know you got a bad hook or needle habit when you go out and by another set of the same size of dpns that you already have. lol.

I think I have sometimers or something like that, lol.....

I must be getting senile at a early age lol...

I prefer calling it 'buying spares'... (forgetful might be the correct word though.)

I do the same thing..But then my excuse is with a 2 year old and 5 year old around, they get lost pretty quickly..

The trick with DPNs is that it is a good thing to have 5 to work your patterns. it is easier to keep four working and the 5th as the one being added in. Many patterns start from 8 stitches so putting 2 on each needle is better than working 3-3-2. Well it is better for me but I am a wuss with porcupines in my hands.

It's very easy to do. Especially with all the sizes around, who can remember every dpn they have.

 

I also pick up extra hooks all the time. My husband thinks it's crazy to have several of each size, but I put them in my WIP's and then I need another one.

My excuse for buying more is that when I do socks I like to have both socks going at the same time, to avoid "Second Sock Syndrome."

I was just going to say this same thing.....now you can knit both socks at once! LOL!!!
