Heres a Baby poncho and Hat I made for my friend who is expecting a little girl in August. They are both made from TLC Baby yarn.

I found both of these paterns on the web. Heres a link for the poncho pattern: http://web.archive.org/web/20031210185942/http://www.stephthornton.co.uk/crochet/poncho.htm

I had to rework it in order to make it infant sized. I can tell you my modifications if your interested.

And heres the hat pattern:

With this one I couldnt figure out for the life of me how to make the brim work ... even though I really wanted it to because its so darn cute, so I ended up doing up to row 22 and then I think I added a few more rows of the same.

I'd certainly be interested in your revisions if you wouldn't mind. I have a brand new niece this would be so cute on.

Great work...I love the contrast color of the trim you put on the hat.

I will look for my notes in the morning and post the revision ... I think it should fit a 3-6 month old .... but I could be wrong cause I havent had anyone to try it on yet ;). I looked at other poncho patterns and kind of went along with their sizing but switched it to that pattern, it took me like 2 hrs to figure it out but it was well worth it

Oh, they're so sweet! I love the bright colors. Usually when people do baby things they're pastels. I think it's great to see someone who's not afraid of a little more color!

I gave her options I asked if she wanted it pastel or in those colors and she was like Oh I have to have that green :lol Thats my favorite baby yarn. I absolutly love the colors.

The only thing I changed was the chain stiches in the foundation round. The pattern calls for 112 and I used 72 so then the numberes at the end of the row are off but it works because its a multiple of 4. I also used sport weight yarn insted of worsted weight. I think I may have used a bigger hook too, thats how I got the looser look where as the pic on the pattern is really tight. I think I might have used a G or a H, I'm honestly not sure tho, I might have used what the pattern called for :lol I just picked up a hook and made it. I made 2 others before it for my nieces and used the 112 stiches with sport weight yarn. I also made another baby one in just that varigated yarn for my sil whos due in august as well. They are really easy to make (I made each one in one day and I crochet pretty slow)
