Grrrrrr!!! Stupid yarn!!!! Update: gets worse

Recommended Posts

I read somewhere that the answer to those who will not wake for an alarm is to just let them sleep... and deal with the consequences.

I absolutely love your story and I am laughing because it is either that or just lay down and cry.

I was telling a friend the other day that my Dora the Explorer Doll stands beside my yarn bag and tells me which yarn she wants me to use for her next outfit. My friend smiled politely as I had also just explained that I had bought 2 skeins of Choco Cherry for Dora.

Craw: I know, I know!!

My bf snores like a tractor. And after a long, hard night of snoring (=me with earplugs, head sandwiched between two pillows under the duvet), he gets up in the morning and says, "I'm wrecked. I didn't sleep a wink last night."

Me: "You did. You snored all night long."

Him: "No, I swear, I was awake for ages."

Me: "That's called DREAMING, my love."

:P

You think you got it bad? My DH talks in his sleep. And the worse is, he mumbles. I can't even understand what he's saying. It's very frustrating! My co-worker says I should ask him questions. He just might answer me. Could be I could gather dirt that way, to use on another day. He, he, he.

Too, too funny.

The other night my BF howled (yes I said howled) in his sleep. When I asked him what was wrong (he was still sleeping) he said it was dark and he couldn't see. I suppose howling makes things brighter:think Had a hard time getting back to sleep that night. Wasn't sure what was happening, I guess I should have checked for a full moon.

Oh my gosh the crochet porn comment was hysterical!

It's funny, several weeks ago I got a new pattern book, and put it on the shelf next to my bed. One morning I got out of the shower and decided to grab a few precious minutes flipping through the book while DH took care of the toddler in the living room. I must have taken more than a few minutes because the next thing I know, DH swings open the door to see what was taking so long. Instinctively I threw the book down next to the bed so he wouldn't see what I was doing - I have no idea why! Guilt, I guess, for taking all that 'me' time when the kiddo was running around.

Anyway, I was not as cool as I thought and of course DH started in with "what is that, why are you hiding it, etc etc". I showed him the book and I think he didn't believe that it was just patterns inside, because I really did look guilty for hiding it. I guess I was acting like I was looking at my own crochet porn...

As long as she didn't race off for her cell phone to call the friendly people with white coats, you're okay! :lol Of course, all we yarn people *know* that yarn talks, before, during, and after we use it. :hook

I gotta stand up for the guys. I talk in my sleep, am impossible to wake up, and kick and hit. I used to sleepwalk in my sleep as a kid, barefoot in the snow and not wake up. I have told a bf "I have egg in my eye!". My bf does not like to wake me up. He says he tries for about an hour and then gives up. Part of my problem is a medical condition though.

I love the crochet porn. My bf just ignores me when I am on a crocheting jag. :lol

Aaaaaah!!!!! The old Love/Pain in the keester dilemma. My nemesis is Joann Fabric's Rainbow Boucle' yarn. Every single time I stitch the foundation row with that yarn I SWEAR loud and long that I will NEVER use this BLANKITY BLANK yarn again. Then as I try and add the next row my vocabulary seems to regress to four letter words. Ultimately as I get further into the pattern I quit threatening to run the skein through the SHREDDER.....well at least until I loose count on the darn pattern repeats.....

YES!!! I had this same problem with Lion Brand Homespun! I COULD NOT crochet my foundation row to save my life. I was going bonkers and if it's variegated Homespun - well, let's just say, kill me NOW!! What I finally did was to crochet the foundation chain with a non-boucle (baby weight) yarn, which I then cut out of the chains when the foundation row was complete. Saved my sanity....
