My Iowa State Fair Results

Tonight I went to the reception for Threads and Fabrics at the Iowa State Fair. I received the following Ribbons:

 

First Place on my snowmen

Third Place on my Felted Bowl: I think they thought it was a hat because they have it displayed on a hat tree! DUH!!

My baby blanket and my large heart doily did not place at all.

 

I am kind of disappointed with the way my items were displayed. I don't like the idea of my bowl being displayed as a hat. I am now wondering if it was judged as a hat and not a bowl. Then they lost the little purse that goes with my Blair bear. The purse was not with her at the reception tonight. My snowmen ornaments have their hats pointing straignt up in the air. I'm not quite sure why they look like that when I put a hanger on the top of each one of their heads so their hats would hang down their backs.

 

I'm not disappointed in my ribbons. I knew it was going to be tough competition. I was surprised to get one ribbon of any color. So that I'm pleased about that.

There were a lot. Especially doilies and afghans. That is where the most competition is. I took some pictures of the other items, but I didn't take a picture of everything. Check out my other posting.

I have to agree with you on how they display items. 4 years ago I had a doily, it didn't place, but when we went to look at all the entries, mine was displayed wrong side out. I asked them about it and was told that the people who do the displays usually know nothing about what they are displaying. I thought it reflected badly on the fairm, not to have things displayed correctly.
