This is so great! Just the other day I decided to make myself a poncho (very basic giant granny-square with an opening up top for my head). So I was looking for some pictures of actual ponchos for inspiration when I stumbled on this ez-board. I think it's fabulous that all of you are making them too (the pictures are great). If I can figure out how, I'll try to post a picture of mine when I"m done.

Have fun!

Was REALLY hoping to finish my poncho this weekend. I actually thought I had it finished yesterday, but wasn't happy with it so had to rip back. I had crocheted a long strip, inspired by one constructed that way in the Weekend Knitting book. Didn't like it as there was a point in the front, but not in the back. A further look at the book showed that was quite evident, but somehow I missed it. So I frogged back, and will construct it like the one someone posted from this pattern. I probably only have 3 or 4 hours max of crocheting to do on this, but today my hands hurt (overdid crocheting and knitting yesterday I guess), so will need to lay off crocheting for a few days (which seems to hurt more than knitting). So close yet so far!

Hi kids.

I'm going to have to pull out of the CAL for now, as I'm not sure how long it will be before my wrist will be comfortable crocheting again. I seem to be doing alright with knitting, but this whole healing thing may take far longer than I'd expected. I'm keeping the poncho on my WIP list, though, as I'm determined to finish it when I'm able. I'll stay in touch with the thread; I can't wait to see you all with your fab ponchos!

I'm done, I'm Done!! I finished my poncho (aka the jetstream colored nightmare) actually during my trip but I've had to wait until my husband got his scanner working again. Either this weekend (if I can drag him away from his computer long enough to use it) or on Monday I will post picture(s) of the poncho!

Sorry to hear about your wrist problem Kim - take it easy !!

:) The poncho is finished, I just finished sewing the seams and weaving in the ends. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. Picture coming soon!

Hi everyone! Just popped in to let you know that I now have a picture of the poncho on my blog. The URL should show below. Now I have to figure out what to make with the leftover yarn. I'm actually thinking of a knit baby sweater (specific pattern in mind), even though I don't currently have a baby to gift it to.

Brenda, I love both your shawl and your poncho! My LYS has some gorgeous Fleece Artist yarn, and I've been dreaming of holiday gifts...

Okay, maybe I'll just finish the afghans.

Hey, the President speaks at eight tonight. In fifteen minutes.

Amber -- I have so many projects on my to-do list, it will be time for winter before I know it! Plus, I don't know how much longer my LYS will have these yarns, so now's the time to stock up. I'm always happiest when I have lots of options!

yep. Ditto!

I've not looked very seriously into purchasing more yarn yet, I need to finish sorting what I have first! You should see my cove! Or rather, you shouldn't see it. Maybe hooks on the wall so I could hang individual bags with each project in them....

:scratchchin

Well, I'll finish the sorting later. I have a dentist appointment this morning!

Brenda and knotty mouse,

Love your poncho's!!!!:clap

So now I really want to try one...and need to know your specifics...stitches, # to chain to start, yarn # of balls and name and color specs on yarns?

Thank you so much!!!

These look so great I can't wait to get started!

KnottyMouse and Closetomyheart are done! :thumbsup

It's good to know that somebody is finishing up. ;) I am still working on mine; slowly, but surely.

Can the two of you E-mail me photos of your completed ponchos so that I can start a Poncho-rama gallery? If y'all have names for your ponchos, include those as well. I will make the gallery here.

I will also add something to the list of participants to say who is finished and who isn't.

So, when someone finished his or her poncho, please send me a picture so that I can put it in the Poncho-rama gallery.

Who's next?

I just remembered that I forgot to post it! :o

Send the picture to [email protected] in whatever format you want. I don't think there are any restrictions on Weblogimages.com.

I might resize the image to save memory or if it's more than 800x600 pixels. If that's a problem, we can talk about it via E-mail.

I finished my poncho, I made it for my daughter who is turning 6 this weekend. It's for her birthday party on Saturday so she hasnt seen it yet. It's been interesting working on it only when she's not around. The picture has been posted in my blog, and I've emailed pfirsch to add it to the completed page.

I would like to participate in a crochetalong on a poncho. Will the poncho be holey and breezy like you see them wearing on tv?:clap

Posted

That would be great if you joined us in the crochetalong! Whether the poncho will be holey and breezy depends all on how you crochet your poncho, and what size hooks and yarn you use. The poncho pattern you use is up to you...except that you have to use double crochet stitches somewhere in your poncho.

Have fun!!

Thanks I started a poncho today. I am using the pattern I got on http://www.bellaonline.org and the whole thing is out of double crochet. I have another one I will try to make out of a shawl pattern and it is holey. Thanks for including me. Sue:bounce

Pfirsch, a photo of my poncho is coming your way via email. I lightened it conciderably in Photoshop because it was showing so dark on the web.
