Silly me, I didn't realize until I saw the other knit hats that it wasn't only crochet for this -along... so I have this knit hat to add to my finished objects. Its knit with LB Woolese in Chestnut Heather and Loden for the stripes. The pattern is the London Beanie ( can't find the link right now)

LOVE IT!!!!

I really really want to knit this... I'm just not sure I'll get it done before Halloween, but I could always wear it as my "winter hat" like has been suggested on a few folks knitting blogs.

Edited to say : Yes.. I was talking about the Hallowig, duh.. sorry!!

Mouse,

I love the beanie!! Great job!! :cheer2

I actually prefer to knit my hats. I have crocheted many hats before, and I am in the process of crocheting one as we *speak*, but there is just something about me liking to make knitted hats.

I am not sure if you were refering to me below when you said:

You know, when you are in a room full of people and someone says, "Hi!" and you say hi back and then realize they were talking to the person behind you. :o I am guessing you were refering to the Hallowig with the mention of Halloween. I think it would be great to wear for a *winter hat*. It is fun to make. I am considering making another. :sheepjump

Tiffany,

Here is the link for instructions to join the Phat Hats stitch along. crochetmyway.visualrhetor.../phathats/

She said to contact her and let her know you want to join by leaving a comment at the Phat Hats site or by posting here.

Then, if you have a blog or website, you save the Phat Hats button to your own server and then upload the button onto your blog/website. Then, you would link the button to the Phat Hats site.

Then you get started making some hats, and take pictures and share them with all of us!! :knit :camera :woohoo :))

Hey Phat Hatters

I updated the gallery. I am sorry that I am not around a lot but I don't really have time to be here that much now. At any rate, I have updated the gallery with your latest hats. If you have a completed hat to add, please email me at ladyk {at} visualrhetoric {dot}org.

Happy Hatting!

I've made two hats this week and figured I'd see if it's not too late to join in on the CAL. I crocheted them both, but have a knit hat in the works for ds to match his new winter coat.

I finished this knit hat in the middle of October but couldn't put up the pictures because it was a gift for my sister (and she'd be sneaky enough to ruin her own surprise) and wanted to wait until she recieved it.

The pattern is Coronet from Knitty and the yarn is Red Heart Artist Print varigated. I'd have loved to do it in wool.. but she is allergic to animal fibers, so I was stuck with RH.

Mouse,

I love your Coronet!!! I have been eyeing that pattern for about a week now. I attempted to make a swatch of cable. I really, really, want to make that hat! You did a great job!! Your sister must just love it!! It is beautiful!! :yay2

Thanks! No it's not a ninja turtle, it's a hunter's face mask. You really can't see the detail on this pic but he wouldn't stand still for very many shots. It only fits his face, because I used short rows to sculpt it to his features.

I adore that Coronet also!!! I would love to knit some hats but so far I haven't been able to figure out dps.

Thanks again Rebecca! You mean the top one right? You did miss the post, but here it is again! I made my hat with some variations to the pattern, due to the super bulky yarn I used. But oh my gosh, you would not believe how warm it is. I just wore it to a football game friday nite where it was oh say, lower 50's weather-wise and my head stayed toasty warm all night. Definately make it with wool if you have cold winters.

Here are some I've done. In the first pic the hats in the back are knit. I figured I'd stock up since the kids always seem to lose their hats. The baby hats are crocheted.

This hat is part of a set for my mom.
