I've slowed down, too, took stuff to Utah but ended up buying more yarn there for other projects <g>. I did end up frantically working on squares to make room to pack (figured flat stuff packed easier!). I've started bouncing around, too.

Deb, your squares look so neat and purdy, especially the basketweave.:thumbsup

I'm plowing along at FULL SPEED still. I'm really enjoying this project. I've discovered a few stitches that I REALLY love and will use in the future projects.

Miss Tomato? You haven't added me to the 63 Square list yet. You will... won't you? hee hee.. Thanks!

Deb, I'm sure she will. Donna is out of town for a wedding until sometime tomorrow, so most likely on Monday I'm certain you will see your name on the list.

Congrats on blasting through 13 squares! I got sidetracked by socks, I need to get moving again. But then, socks are so much fun!!

Still fighting the Trinity Stitch. Just don't get why it's not working out. I get through one row, then I can't work the second - it's just too tight. And I'm crochetting as loosely as I can.

So I frogged the whole thing and started square 32 because it looked easy. And it is. Yay!

LOL, good for you! I'll go back and look at the trinity stitch and see what's up. I don't remember that one specifically. All of them have their quirks, one way or another.

Deb... Miss Tomato, hee hee, I love that! :lol I'd forgotten to add you to the list; thanks for bringing it to my attention! You're on it now. :thumbsup That's great that you're going at full speed! I've let so many things distract me.

Piper, good for you for moving on to another square! You can always come back to the trinity stitch later. I'll have to go back and look at it, too, to see what the problem might be.

Hey all! :wave

I finally got my yarn and finished the first single crochet stitch square too!

Everyone is doing very nice job! :clap I am working on the square #2, and it seems like it is coming out a bit too big using the suggested H hook.

That looks great, Chie! :cheer Nice colors!

You should feel free to change hook sizes as necessary to get the right size square. :sheep

Here is your official booty kick, Rebecca, LOL! :kick

Mine's puttering along, too, but I'm not worried about it. I've got tons of other things distracting my attention. I haven't been concerned about the sporadic nature of my square production :lol , but I need to buckle down or I'll still be working on it next year! :P

I am new to this board (just posted an intro last night). I noticed this crochetalong. Since I ALREADY have this book and have been considering starting this project later this year, I'm going to join you and start now (like I need another project)! As yarn space is an issue right now, I'm just going to get the ecru and worry about the other colors later.

I'm not certain what yarn I'm going to use. I've been using Red Heart a lot lately, but Sayelle is actually my favorite. I'm going to check the Patons Decor as an option. I don't have a blog and although I have a web site at Yahoo, I haven't been able to get it operational very well yet. :mad So, I'll probably just make another little album at my picturetrails account for this until my web page works.

RACHEL, your afghan is beautiful!! Congratulations on your finish!

Take care all,

Stephanie

Hey everyone,

I got my pattern booklet today so will be getting started probably tonight or tomorrow. I have a baby dress I am finishing for my cousin , then will be ready to start something new . I havent decided yet what colors I will use for this afghan. You all picked a lot of pretty ones . It was interesting to see how you all are tackling the squares -- some are starting at number one, while others are starting in order on the blanket . Maybe others are just picking which square they like most and starting on that one . It sounds like the trinity square is giving some of you fits --- I hope it's not as hard as it sounds !

Wish me luck, and I'll drop back in to let you know what colors I choose and what square I'll do first .

It sounds like we all need to be cheerleaders for each other, since I just read a post where one of you is already dreading the putting-together !

Just take things one step at a time and it'll all work out ,you'll see !

Is anyone doing their afghan all in greens ? That is my favorite color !

:cheer:cheer Yay, Julie! I think we have some greens, but I can't think of one in all greens. The trinity square is not so bad once you figure out the stitch. You'll probably have to use a larger hook than for other squares, though. The chevron square #8 is the killer! I finally wrestled that one down to the ground and I'm so glad I did because now it's bee-ooh-tee-ful!

I guess we're supposed to let people know how we're coming with this, so....I have a ton of other projects that kinda take precedence. I just thought I'd let you all know I'm withdrawing from this crochetalong.

Is there a place where you all have listed the squares you have done so far and size hook you needed for each , also would you all mind dropping back in to tell me what colors you all are using ?

Would it be possible to put all that on the crochetalong web page you made ? That'd make it easy to keep track of, unless I am missing them someplace else !

Thanks --

JulieK

( I'll call myself this, since there's already a Julie here )
