This was a special request for a friend of mine in the Army.

 

It's 4" x 7" and worked totally in single crochet.

 

 

If I was to make another one ever [fat chance!] I would do the first 7 stripes, THEN add the blue, then finish the stripes.

 

It didn't take long, time wise.

 

She found the gold thread to outline it. It's just two rounds of single crochet.

 

She's going to frame it.

I Googled images [American flag] and found a clip art flag. Then I [gently] traced it while it was up on my monitor to a 4" x 7" size. That was my pattern.

Great job !!!! we are retired military too and see lots of flags...near the bases espically at Randolph air Base in Texas along that one road. Beautiful how they have it set up like that.
