Thank you everyone, it's a nice feeling to start a larger project and actually finish it. I may go ahead and start on another, I'm still trying to bust up more of the stash. I still have the two baskets I was working with on this one nearly full, so I'm gonna try to make another.

I'm checking in frequently to see your photos.

Thank you. There's a short story behind this. I had started another afghan (luckily I hadn't gotten too far) that was made up of solid colored squares bordered in black. I liked the way it looked but didn't like the idea that I had to make 450+ squares (that's why I've never made a granny). So when this CAL came up, I figured I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak. I will make another one of these when it's a true scrap afghan.

Donna I like your finished afghan very much. Will you be keeping this next huge one you are making?

Laurie I was considering making a granny square the way you have but not in the immediate future... too many others to complete. :lol I wonder how long I can restrain myself?

Paula what colour is your border? I like the softer look.

Lyndsay cannot wait for yours .... you have used some gorgeous colours.

Sprtsbear will check in to view your beautiful one.

Clare I know what you mean... far too many projects calling my name.

Oooooo weeeee! That is soooo pretty! Your colors compliment ech other perfectly. Are you keeping it for yourself? It really is beautiful. I have one that I made years ago, so I'm not keeping the one I just made or the one I'm planning to make.

Pictures of my finished afghan.img] <img src=[/img] I used an H hook and ch 22 for each panel. I really love this afghan because you can use small balls of yarn. I almost ran out. I want to thank those who helped me thru this project especially Nina. This pattern is so easy. I will definetely do another when I get more yarn leftovers.

MadCityCrocheter - You are more than welcome to join in on the CAL. :hug

I just started on my second one, this one may be an early Christmas gift or I might sell it. When it comes to making afghans as gift (especially when you are planning on doing several), I don't think you can be too early.

I haven't had much time to crochet lately....my daughter's sick. I have one panel done and am working on the second. I'm tgoingto be putting My niece' initials in it. I have one color that I'm using for the initials but I'm not going to use that color anywhere else in the gan. Wish me luck!

sprtsbear - awesome job! That is beautiful. Love the colors.

I'm still planning on doing one of these, but have gotten side tracked by another project I need to finish first. I've been trying to keep up with the postings and ideas on this thread. You guys are truly awe inspiring.

I just finished the 3rd panel last night. I'll attach it to the other panels tonight and take a picture.

LauriE-Can't wait to see a photo of panel 3.

I finished panel two a couple of nights ago. I've been using a tiny dab of fabric glue on my first to be sure to secure all the ends, I don't want them to start popping out after a couple of washes (read that tip in a book). I'm hoping to at least get two more panels done by the end of the weekend.

I finished panel 3, got it attached, and even took the photo. Wouldn't you know I left my camera home when I came to work this morning!! I'll post the photo when I get home tonight.

LauriE-I'm almost done with panel #3 also. I was hoping to get it done and attached tonight, but I'm going out to dinner and maybe dancing:dance with friends. It's really cold and rainy here today and as lame as this sounds, I'd rather just go home, curl up on the couch in my den, pop in a dvd and crochet to be honest with you. I know I should want to get out once in a while, but do I have to????
