Bath Mitts

These are the bath mitts I made as a gift for a friend. The pattern is from Family Circle Easy Crochet and it nearly drove me insane. I'm pretty sure they aren't right, but the important thing is they look like bath mitts! I'd appreciate everyone's opinions. Do they look really goofy? Thanks in advance for the feedback!

they look GREAT! I got the magazine last week and have been trying to do the bath mitts for several days, I keep ripping it out. I can't figure out how to do the increases for the thumb and still keep in the pattern stitch. It just don't match up. Am I doing something wrong or is the pattern off?
