A few years ago I discovered the crocheted art of Nicki Hitz Edson. She lives in Seattle and I once had the opportunity if I had attend one of her advanced crochet workshop, but money was not permitting.

 

My favorite creation of hers is the Medusa mask, but the Daphne is also outstanding.

 

It's truly amazing what crocheting can do! (No wonder knitters are a bit snobby because I think they are secretly jealous.)

Hey Lori, man you're giving me things to look forward to when I eventually move home to Vashon...great website and I do believe I remember her Creative Crochet book way back when. Her masks are awesome.
