Jelly yarn

Question

I saw a couple of patterns for purses made with Jelly yarn. It looked like plastic - but flexible like the old jelly sandals. It's made by Yummy yarns and, when i plugged it into google I came up with a web site and pictures of the bags.

Has anyone used this? What for, how is it to work with, where did you get it? etc.

Hmmmm...interesting! I am sure it doesn't, but it seems like it would be "sticky" to knit or crochet with...like it wouldn't slide on hooks or needles very well...I wonder if it is round as opposed to plastic lacing which is flat??

Hi, I also tried the plastic lace to see how it would work. I doubled it and I also knitted it. I did about 5 rows and I hated it. The plastic is very hard to work with. It is very sticky and doesn;t slide off the needles. It took me twice as long to knit 5 rows. I need to finish quicker than that. To me it was not very enjoyable to work with. I knit and crochet and can't imagine crocheting with it.
