A Filet Question

I am sitting here working on a filet design for my son's school band and i had a thought...which is the "right" way to put a block over mesh...crochet into the space of the mesh or into the chains.

I crochet under both loops of the chain but I was wondering what other crocheters do in their filet work.

I crochet into the space. I find it much faster and you really can't tell in the finished product.

I crochet into each chain, I really think it is personal choice...

I crochet into the space not the chain. Again personal prefernce. It is faster to do into the space for me and on a large piece this counts, or I would never get done.

I will even out the vote I'm with Vonnie. I (personally) think it looks tidier working into the chain; I work into the back loop of the chain so it goes pretty fast. I am also a 'yanker' per Doris Chan's assessment, and it helps my DCs be ever so slightly taller.
