Unfortunately it seems they are not all crochet tho. It is picking up any mention of crochet, and 'crochet' is French for hook (right?) Some of the books are lists of other books that contain the word crochet, or are pamphlets from state fairs where crochet items were exhibited, or are about something else but had an ad in the back that had the word crochet, or are about some other use of the word crochet=hook that has nothing to do with our craft. But it is still very cool to look at the old books

I read the most interesting article in a magazine from 1885 about the proper way to relax. It even tells you that you're allowed to relax because it makes you a more efficient worker.

 

ie: instead of sitting perched on a chair with your muscle half ready to jump up and keep going - let the chair take your weight and relax into it. these small changes make a huge difference in how you feel at the end of the day.
