Ball Winder and Swifts

ive been winding my wool up into balls cos i find i like that and was wondering if its worth getting ball winder. are these only for use with skeins of thread and not the wool that im currently using?

I bought a Boye electric winder and hated it. I took it back immediately.

I have a manual ball winder and would be lost without it. I'd only get a swift if you buy yarn in "loops" not skeins.

I have a ball winder by royal. It is blue and white. I would be completely lost with out mine.

I recommend the royal hands down it is so great the electric yarn winders stink sorry to put it so bluntly it was a pain to use and my royal is great and it's my favorite color of all time.

I have the Royal also. I have only had it a few months and don't know how I did without it before. I bought mine through JoAnn's when I had a half off coupon.

I love my Royal! It makes short work of any/all winding!

I love my royal manual winder. I really hate crocheting to the end of an unwound skein because if I carry my project with me then the skein gets all knotted up. I use the yarn from the outside end of my balls and no knots!
