crocheted edging on sweatshirt

Recommended Posts

This was my "busy doing nothing" project yesterday, an exercise in the creative potential of procrastinating :lol To avoid doing things I actually needed to do I crocheted an edging on my sweatshirt cuffs instead, I don't like the ribbed cuffs that you often get on sweats so I always cut them off, this makes for a more finished edge than just the rolled up raw edge left behind ;) #10 thread in Mexicana colourway and a bates 1.5mm hook which was nice and pointy enough to poke through the fabric.

I'm thinking I need to do the bottom hem to match now.

Cool! You know, ladies used to wield their hooks to make their own lace for clothes or household linens all the time. It's obviously not a dead art, but very nearly so. I really like seeing you do this, KS!

How pretty! I am going to do edgings also. I love them. I've been doing a lot of hearts in thread for appliques. On what? Not sure yet but it's been fun!
