Good Crochet Magazine

Recommended Posts

I like Crochet World...it's the only one I subscribe too. I find something in pretty much every issue, and it has lots of variety in patterns. Also has some "chatty" sections that I enjoy. (Q&A, that sort of thing)

Crochet Today is also nice, as is Crochet!...but I find less in them, so if I can find them on a magazine stand somewhere, I'll flip through them...once in a while I find something worth the price. (crochet today has that Swingy spring skirt in the current issue. crochettoday.com)

You can get a fair idea of the magazines' content by looking at their websites. Like Momcrochets, when I like a magazine it is partly because of the articles, not just the patterns, and you can't tell much about the articles by looking at the websites. But generally you can see the kinds of patterns they have.

Crochet! magazine http://www.crochetmagazine.com/

Interweave Crochet http://www.interweavecrochet.com/ (my favorite US magazine)

Momcrochets already gave the site for Crochet Today.

these three have mainly women's garments, with some accessories, home decor/afghans, kids'/baby items.

I think Crochet World has fewer women's garments, with more home decor and kids' items. http://www.crochet-world.com/

I think most of them offer a free trial issue, and of course you can cancel the subscription if you decide you don't like it.

Also, some now offer digital subs which include access to back issues https://digital.crochet-world.com/ https://digital.crochetmagazine.com/

Crochet! and Crochet World are by the same publisher, DRG.

I like "Crochet World". The new one just came yesterday and there's a few patterns I would like to make.

I like the articles and the patterns the best in this magazine.

I agree. I like Crochet World, I tried out the others and I didn't really find anything in it. I also subscribe to Crochet World.

I haven't seen Crochet Today! mentioned yet. It's one of the 3 I subscribe to. (I get Interweave Crochet, and Crochet! as well.) I think it depends on what sort of items you like to make, though. I find those 3 to have more "modern" apparel type of stuff which appeals to me. Some of the other mags may have more home stuff, stuff done in thread, etc.

You should definitely check out the current issue of Interweave Crochet, however, as they have some gorgeous patterns for sweaters and dresses in there, most made in bamboo or other lightweight, summery yarns. And a couple of issues back featured plus size patterns for all the clothes. I think this current issue is one of the best.

Of course, it all depends on what you liek to make: clothes, afghans, toys... Patty
