Ok I'm putting up this link to a news article read further down and it talks about a 98year old woman in Italy knitting even though the earthquake hit

I saw that and I so understand what she was thinking at the time. What else is there to do while waiting for rescue.

 

Just another good reason to keep yarn all over the house... you never know when you may need to fill in some time.

 

Seriously. I say kudos to her for keeping her head in a dangerous place.

I can totally see myself doing that same thing. I'd be thinking, "Aw, geez. I'm trapped in here... Oh well. I still have my needles/hooks and my yarn!"

I so agree and it does give one a fantastic reason to stash yarn and hooks in odd places now, doesn't it? "But hon, what if we have an earthquake?"

What a remarkable lady!!!! To think that she is that age, still thinking very straight and able to knit thru a horrible experience!!! I hope I can be like her at that age.
