Sloppy Slipknot, an alternative to Magic Rings!

I found when making up the feather pattern I'm using for my skull purse that I didn't like the way the middle looked when using a magic ring (which I just learned how to do anyway). I started looking and found this article and LOVE the way it works. It is very similar, but not quite the same. I really liked the fact that the hole closed up tight. When I held it up to the light, not even a pinprick of light showed through. I will use the magic ring too, I'm sure, but for items where I'm using thread, I'll probably use this one.

I usually do a chain 3 or 4 or whatever, join, do the first round of sc, have the tail under as I'm crocheting it, and then pull the tail tight, this closes up the opening. I'll knot it just to make sure that it stays closed.
