3 3/4” 6-sided Hexagon

Yarn - Worsted Weight

Color A - Red Heart Super Saver - Dark Orchid

Color B - Red Heart Super Saver - Pumpkin

Hook - H8 (5.00 mm)

 

Double Cluster - *YO, insert hook in indicated sp, draw up a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on hook, twice (an incomplete dc)* Repeat from * twice. YO and draw through all four loops.

 

With Color A - Ch. 3, join with sl st to form ring.

 

Rnd 1 - Ch 6, dc in ring (Ch 3, dc in ring) 4 times. Ch 3, sl st to 3rd ch to join. Fasten off. 6 ch loops.

 

Rnd 2 - With Color B join with sl st to one of the ch loops. Ch. 2, *Yo, insert hook in same loop, yo & pull up a loop, yo & draw through 2 loops on hook. Repeat from * once. Yo & draw through all 3 loops on hook. Ch 1, work double cluster in same ch loop. *Ch 3. In next ch loop, work double cluster, ch 1, work double cluster in same ch loop. Repeat from * 4 times. Ch 3 & sl st to join. Fasten off.

It all started because I hated throwing away 3-4 ft of yarn. Even yo-yo's take more yarn than that. So I decided to see what I could make with it and the Starfish was born! :cheerAnd since it ended up being 6 sided and hexagons are 6 sided.....
