Another "H" bag

This is my 2nd bag - it is gray heather with a charcoal/white/turq lining. It is my first attempt to do a zippered pocket and magnetic clasp. After joining the squares - I liked the textured look of the joining seam so I put that on the outside of the bag - the "good" side is on the inside. I am giving this to my daughter. Pam

I was afraid of linings too. On my 1st bag, I wasn't sure how to do it but I laid the purse over newspaper, traced around it for a pattern and made a 3rd piece for the bottom. Using the sewing machine, the stitches seem to disappear and are not noticable. That was my main concern - that the stitching would show but it doesn't. I lined the straps so they won't stretch out of shape.

 

On this bag, I did some research and found a tut for the zipper pocket and the magnetic clasp. Both are pretty easy to do.
