Length of hook shaft

Just wondering what your preference on length is. Do you prefer a hook that the end sticks out from the back of your hand or one that your hand encases? I have both.

My Susan Bates are longer and I like that.

My Clover soft touches have a shorter, but wider grip. I like the feel of the wider grip in my hand, but not so sure I like the feel of them being so short my hand totally covers them. I have one from Fancy Kitty with a wider grip and is 6 3/4" long. Seems to be a fairly nice length.

I like them to stick out from the end of my hand but not too far - I don't like the enclosed hand sort at all - maybe it would depend on peoples grip style? I am a sort of pencil gripper. My ideal ones are the 'Tulip' steel hooks for my thread crochet which are nice and short

I like the longer ones. I use Boye hooks all around. Of course the thread hooks are shorter, but I can still work with them.

I like the longer hooks, usually around the size of Susan Bates or Boye hooks. I found that the Clover Soft Touch hooks were too short for me.

I use Susan Bates hooks mostly - sometimes I wish they were shorter. I like around 6.5 inches long.

I'll be honest, I never really noticed. Guess I was too busy concentrating on my projects, that I didn't realize the length. I do use Susan Bates the most, but have bought Clover and the lighted hooks.

i prefer to use the acrylic hooks.(light and beautiful colors) most of mine are from http://www.8season-knitting.com the same as LI Roe, i have never notice the length. but they all work well
