I'm definitely no expert, but I was told that washing with vinegar really helps RHSS with softness. I haven't tried it, but many people gave me that advice when I asked about the stiffness of RHSS.

I love it,the colors are great.

 

I've found that when I wash something made with RHSS, if I do it on warm with the heaviest agitation my machine does it softens up a lot, then dry it on warm.

I must say I never liked that particular variegated yarn before, but the way you have worked it with the black is just WOW! I might just have to give it a try! Very nice.

you really found a way to make that yarn WORK! it's the single crochet and the ripple motion. thank you for showing a very idea inspiring finished product! i've always loved that color but never came up with a good project to commit to.
