I had to jump on the wristlet bandwagon

I've After seeing so many of you fellow crochetvillagers make wristlet bags and I wanted one. I really wanted one. . . So when the diaper bag was finished being crocheted and I had some yarn left over I was thinking I'd make one in the AJ's wrist bag pattern using the left over yarn but when I saw that the pattern involved sewing my lazy bone kicked in and I thought to myself I'd rather design something that's in the round. . . I used the same idea for my diaper bag and just made a baby version of that bag basically. I had some problems figuring out how I wanted to make the handle. I looked at several other bags and ended up crocheting it about 5 different times/ways and ripping it out but this is the shape that I wanted and it's all one continuious piece so NO SEWING!!!!:cheer My dh loves it because he's always commenting on the fact that my purse is hanging open for people to steal my stuff. This bag has that auto closure so I don't have to think about it! I've got some serious sewing to do though to make the linings!

Neat! So on one side you have a hole, and on the other side you have a long handle which goes through the hole? (That is what I think I am seeing.)

I like the design for this wrist bag and your diaper bag.

That's the way I see it, too. That's the way My Epiphany Bag (http://homepage.mac.com/coxsalida/Personal1.html) is closed as well. :hook

Yep, It's a hole and a loop on the other side that fits through the hole. I did some shaping on the loop so that it would lay flat through the hole though. When I just crocheted it 1:1 stitch ratio the whole lenght of it it twisted and didn't lay right. I did some dec at the join of the loop to the body of the bag on both sides, and some inc at the top of the loop.

I had seen your bag and thought that it was cute but was unsure of the opening. Now the pic makes much more sense! I'm glad that you posted the similarity here. I may just have to try your pattern now when I make another felted bag!
