With summer crocheting running rampant in our house, our newest obsession is working with jute twine. That's right. It's actually the perfect medium for creating straw-like beach bags.

Did you find the jute thread hard on your hands?

 

It was a little rough, unfortunately. I found I could only work with it for maybe an hour at a time, so I took frequent breaks. Luckily though I used an openwork pattern, so it worked up pretty quickly. I definitely wouldn't recommend doing a jute project all in sc!
