Frustrating!!

Argh! I started a new doily. Fairly simple. Well I don't know how many times I have ripped out a row thinking I had done it wrong, only to find that I had done it correctly. blah!

 

Any one else do that? The pattern is written pretty well, but it could be a tad clearer. Of course if I would read ahead to the next round when I question myself....ugh.

Arrrrrrrrrrgh! I have to rip it out AGAIN. I had this double shell thing going on..and I failed to put a ch 3 in between the shells.

I have had that happen where I think I did it wrong, then when I redo, I realize it was ok. Frustrating is right. One thing I started doing is keeping a sticky note on the phrase of the instructions and moving it as I go. It slows you down, but keeps the place on the pattern, so less mess ups.

I hear you! I ripped out 2 rows last night and I still can't seem to see what they are talking about, but since I kept on going, now I see!! I love the post it note too. I put an arrow on mine at the top and place it right at the row that I am on. This way when I do something else I can refocus on my project with much trouble.

Yes, that is a great idea of the sticky note. I am going to start doing that as well. I am always having to hunt down what I need to do next. LOL.

Hi, Let me tell you--I have been crocheting doilies for 33 years. Yesterday I made a mistake and had to frog-it for a whole row and 1/2. It can happen to anyone anytime.

Yea,,,I do it. But, after so many rips,,,I get frustrated enough to put the thing away, only to recycler the thread for another project.

OH I think everyone does it.I did once so many times that it became a joke in the family.But I did not give up and completed it.But as you rightly say it is frustrating
