A doily in J&P Coats thread size 200

My special thanks to the Norwegian Chrochetville member (TRK) who has sent me a ball of J&P Coats crochet thread in size 200 to find out which thread is finer (or thinner) - my usually used Gütermann C Ne 50 sewing thread or the size 200 which is no longer available and almost impossible to get.

With this pattern (my comprison doily pattern) I am now able to proof that the C Ne 50 is just a little thinner. By crocheting the picots in the last round I was convinced. As my tension is very regular but not allways the same I made this pattern also in Gütermann C Ne 50 sewing thread.

Both are beautiful (as your work always is) and this is a great experiment.  The 2 are so very close, good to know/prove that the more available #50 is a reasonable alternative.
