A pattern

Welcome to the 'ville!

I haven't looked for a pattern yet but - for such a tiny doll, any pattern I might find will likely be in doily thread or maybe sock weight yarn, using tiny hooks.  Also (I'm guessing) a nightgown will be something more likely findable than a onesie--and easier to tackle for a novice. Not saying it would be impossible, I was fearless as a new teenaged crocheter, but I would rather you succeed than be discouraged and give up.  I have been crocheting for decades, I work with thread a lot and could make a onesie, maybe even design one, but would much rather tackle an easier-to-make gown.  It's a lot easier to make a top than bottoms, they are sort of convoluted.

I suspect it would be difficult to dress such a tiny doll in a onesie, as well.  I will see what I can find and report back.

I’m looking for a pattern for a “onesie “ pj’s for a 5-6” baby doll. I’m a novice in crochet.

There are several 5" Berenguer doll clothes patterns on Ravelry.com. Most of the patterns do have a cost, but, it is free to become a member.

Peruse Etsy.com.  Crochet onesie for 5 inch dolls  is the words I used in bing search

This gal has a nice selection for 5 inch Berenguer dolls. https://www.etsy.com/listing/159798126/crochet-pattern-for-berenguer-5-inch

Again not free but epatterns has Itty Bitty Babies and their Bassinet Purses on sale and I believe it does have a onesie with a bonnet.  The pattern is on sale now.  If you don't catch it now I'd suggest waiting as their patterns are constantly on sale.
