okay, I'm trying my hand at this. I created this book mark a few nights ago, wanting something for Christmas. Please let me know if it works. I've made 2 myself so far, but didn't have the pattern written out, so I don't know if the written instructions make any sense!

Size 10 crochet thread

Size 7 steel hook

 

Ch 2

R1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook

R2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each sc (4 sc)

R3: Ch1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc (6 sc)

R4: ch1, turn, 2sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in last sc (8 sc)

R5: ch1, turn, sl st in first 3 stitches, ch1, sc in same st as last sl st. sc in next 3 st. do not work in last 2 stitches(4 sc)

R6: repeat row 3 (6 sc)

R7: repeat row 4 (8 sc)

R8: ch1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in last sc (10 sc)

R9: ch1, turn, sl in first 3 stitches, ch1, sc in same st as last sl st., sc in next 5 stitches. Do not work last 2 stitches (6 sc)

R10: repeat row 4 (8 sc)

R11: repeat row 5 (10 sc)

R12: ch1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in last sc (12 sc)

R 13: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in last sc (14 sc)

R14: ch 1, turn. Sl in first 7 sc. Ch 1, sc in same st as last sl. Sc in next sc. Leave last 6 unworked(2 sc)

 

Repeat rows 2-14 ending with row 13 for desired amount of trees. I have 5 on mine. Fasten off and weave in ends.

 

Star/tassel: join yellow with sl st to top of tree. Chain 25. sl st in 3rd chain from hook to form small loop. *Ch 5. sl in each chain back to loop sl in loop* repeat between * for total of 5 ‘points’. Sl in remaining of long chain back to top of tree. Leave long ends for tying in bow.

 

Please let me know if this pattern works! This is my first time actually writing out one of my patterns! I just do them from memory when I create something!

Thanks everyone...I looked back over it this morning and found a few mistakes. I've corrected them. If anyone has printed this out prior to the revision, please make the changes that are in red! It should be okay now!
