Granny Square Purse

This pattern is from Better Homes and Gardens Crochet 1, 2, 3. I changed up the strap because they had the picot edging on the strap and it kept twisting and I wasn't happy with it. I just did a few rows of single crochet for the strap. The pattern also calls for a button closure but I found a great way to put in a zipper (I can sew but I have a fear of zippers), so I put a zipper in the lining and I doubled the lining so the right side of the fabric would show on the outside (through the granny square) and also on the inside of the bag. I originally bought one of those cover it yourself buttons for the closure, so I covered it with the lining fabric and put it right in the middle of the granny square (I don't know if you can see it in the picture). The yarn is Red Heart Super Saver Shades of Dusk (it took less than a regular size skein).
