What crochet stitch book from Santa?

I'm putting together my Christmas Wish List and would like to list a crochet book of stitches for design inspiration. If it's available from amazon.com, that would be a plus! What is your favorite?

I would get the Harmony Guides to Crochet http://www.interweave.com/crochet/books/HG_Basic_Crochet_Stitches/ that one has allover stitch patterns and at bottom of page is link to the one on motifs. Same content as the version printed in the 1990s by Anova, called vol 6 and 7. You can see all of them at Amazon.

is a beautiful book, and I think it could really be inspiring; the photographs are lovely, and the book is very well done. Most of the stitch patterns are available elsewhere (I think most are actually in Harmony Guides), but some are hard to find.

 

ETA: all of the above have clear photos, written directions, and stitch diagrams.

I'm thinking the Crochet Stitch Bible by Betty Barnden - it is available from Amazon for around $20. It is going on my Exchange list with my family!

I love the Stitch Bible. The spiral binding means it lays flat, the color photos are crisp and large. And there are written and charted directions. Your library might have it if you want to check it out before someone orders it. Patty

Stitch Bible looks great. Like combo of clear written directions (I'm not always very visual---go figure, I learned to crochet!) and the binding. thanks

I want the Harmony Guides, I thought there was a volume one and two? I know several years ago I checked out two Harmoney guides from the library and loved both. I thought both were stitch guides, didn't know about the motif one.

I did have the Encyclopedia of Crochet but managed to lose it somehow so I am thinking of replacing that for Christmas.

I love The Encyclopedia of Crochet. It has an extensive stitch pattern library in back.
