Recycled Grocery Bag From Plarn

Here is my latest recycled grocery tote bag I crocheted from plastic bag yarn or plarn. It takes about 60 plastic bags to create the 13" x 13" tote bag. It's really strong and the bottom expands as needed when you fill it up with your groceries.

Here is the free crochet pattern link. You can mix and match the different colored bags to create stripes and other patterns. Also you can add ribbon around the top with a bow tie for embellishments. Either way this is a wonderful reusable tote to carry to the market. I love using mine.

Very nice :D

I've been saving my plastic bags to make some plarn, but everywhere I shop has boring white bags

I wrote a recent post here about how to spice up those not-so-pretty white plastic bags. By adding ribbon, other colored yarn, pretty thread or other embellishments you can brighten up those boring white bags to create some really cute stuff.
