beth's little star blanket

Question

I want to make Beth's little star blanket. (don't know how to add link). I've been reviewing the directions before I start and am lost already. In round 1 do I do everything in the first chain? Is there an easier pattern for a star? If I want it bigger (says for preemie) do I add a row to each color or at the end? Thanks

Colleen

i have made many many many of these.. i make mine as big or small as i want by jsut going round and round and round..

and yes every thing in round one is done in the first chain.. once you get going and see it coming together it will be easier.. dont get ahead of yourself and bog yourself down with steps in the pattern.. just start it and go on.. seriously its not hard and once you see it coming together you will be happy you started this blanket

Hi!

You are correct. All of round 1 stitches are done in the first chain. I did this blanket

using that pattern w/ Bernat's Cotton Tots.

I think I did 19 or 20 rows. You will just keep working the pattern until it's the size you want. It's up to you how you want to change the colors. What colors you use or what rows you switch the colors will not change how the pattern "works", just the color scheme of the final blanket, if that makes sense. Once you get started, I think you'll find it fairly easy, because you are doing the same thing row after row.

As far as adding links, when you have the reply box open, click on the "link" button on the left. A window will pop up, you past the URL in the box and click ok. Another window will pop up and ask for the name of the link. You can just leave it as the url or shorten it to something like "Little Star Blanket" as I did.

Hope that helps!!

and they are pretty easy once you get going on them.

I even made one for my mini schnauzer made out of the cloud yarn as she kept laying on the one for my nephew! :hee

Oh cool, thanks for posting this *g* I was about to have to go searching for it! My son's math tutor has asked me to make a blanket for her little niece and she wants something more interesting than a sqaure or rectangle =) Glad to know there's people to ask if I get lost *g*

I've made this afghan and it's really easy! It seems confusing, and a little daunting at first, but just take it one step at a time and by the time they end off on row 9 and you're ready to keep going, you'll have the instructions down pat.

I also use this (maybe 4 or 5 rounds) to make accents for things because I love stars! I even did one out of macrame yarn for a bathroom rug!
