it looks like gaby or maby,the first letter is not clear to me,the other three are clear

My DD9 said it looked like a window,

 

and DH said it looked like that "JESUS" word that was an optical illusion... then he changed his mind to "GABY"...

I did it as I crocheted the hat so that I wouldn't have to go back and double crochet over the hat or switch colors, but with the responses I'm getting I'm thinking that it just doesn't work in the same color. Sigh.

I think it looks fine. Remember it's a photo and it probably looks a lot better in person. Not to mention everyone's monitor's (and eyesight) are all different making it harder for some to really see it.

I agree... I would NOT count on a man's opinion of a pattern. If you are truly concerned, you could take some crochet thread or a contrasting color of yarn and edge the letters. I think it is very cute.

Lol, my DH said baby. Then he said "you couldn't tell"? I said yes I knew what it was. Then he said you just wanted to see if it was readable by a dummy! I said yes, a man.
