Question re Crochetville Tote Bag

Has anyone made the Crochetville Tote Bag using cotton yarn (Sugar 'N Cream)? If so, did you have to start out with more chains to make the bag come out to the right size? How many more chains? Any other adjustments if using cotton yarn?

Here is the pattern for the Tote. It is by Lily, who makes Sugar and Cream. I just happen to use Peaches and Cream, which is the same type of yarn.

You can also check HL. I found the booklet in one of their sugar n cream packages. It was the one with three big skeins of sugar n cream yarn that they sale for 20.00
