Looking for Flowergirl Gifts

Yarnster

Question

Hello all,

I'm looking for gift ideas for my sister.

She's going to be flowergirl at my wedding :manyheart

I posted more info on my blog: Here

I need all kinds of ideas and I thought, since I've always found everything I needed here, I'd probably have the best luck finding something among all you crocheters. :):think

Any ideas at all are welcomed. :scrachin

Maybe you could make her a veil to wear or a little white doily-type purse? Something really special to wear that day that she will have as a keepsake.

I think you have plenty to do for now.

If you need anything else just let us know.

Don't forget to post when they are ready, can't wait to see. (I'd love to see your little sister's face when she gets these:) )

So nice when sisters love each other like this. I have a son and daughter with 7 years between them, they are really close. I am very happy, especially, since I am an only child. Now I am off- topic.

Good luck with your work. Glad you liked the ideas.

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions! :manyheart

I actually have the DMC Butterfly Tote on my To-Do List and even forgot I had the supplies for it already :lol

And the Fun Flower Pillow would be perfect to go with the afghan I made her last year :) I still have the left over scraps from that project! WooHoo!

I've been forbidden to buy more yarn until I use up my stash and since I haven't really touched my last purchase I think I can get most, if not all of her gifts done with what I have on hand. Plus I have a few skeins in white that I've been saving for something special and this is about as special as it gets

:manyheart

I'll be off-line for the next couple of days trying to get these done. But if anyone thinks of something else, Just reply to this post and I'll get it in my email box :)

Thank you all again for your help :hug

There are some nice totes on the DMC site, I particularly like the butterfly one.

Then you could carry the butterfly theme to the other items.

Or use a flower theme.

There is also a lovely notebook holder at http://www.crochetnow.com/index.php?category_name=general-misc/&paged=3

Oh, I think you are going to make some lovely gifts. She is going to be sooo happy. :)

Thank you Crochetfun for the link to the cradle purse! I was looking on ebay at the pattern books for those and those things are expensive!

And thank you Empress Busy Bee for the info on the size. I have a few baby patterns I can use for the bear. Its such a relief too, I wasn't so sure how I would do coming up with patterns for it on my own. But I do have baby patterns to use so thats what I'll do :)

Thank you all for all the help :hug

She also has a Build-A-Bear that only has one set of clothes so I can make her some outfits for it. I just have to find out what size the bear is.

Build a Bear bears are very close to newborn sizes. I know because we have the dress we brought our daughter home in on the one we got her when she was born. It's newborn size and fits pretty good.

So look for newborn outfits. ;)

Wow! All your ideas are awesome! I hadn't even thought of making her something to wear at the wedding!

I think I'm going with all of your suggestions. :manyheart

She doesn't have a purse to go with her dress so I can make her one for the big day. Also a lip balm holder for her lip balms so she has something to put in her purse.

She also has a Build-A-Bear that only has one set of clothes so I can make her some outfits for it. I just have to find out what size the bear is.

I hadn't thought of a poncho which I'm going to make her one because my mom did say the building was air conditioned so if it gets chilly, she'll have something to wear.

I'm going to make her a tote as well as a bear blanket so she can carry around her bear and things without getting them dirty.

Thank you for sharing all these ideas with me :hug I drew nothing but blanks. I've spent a lot of my time looking through Crochetpatterncentral.com and Freepatterns.com. Maybe I'll find something else I haven't thought of.

Empress Busy Bee!!

I Love :manyheart all the links you're sharing!

The lip balm holder is super! She is always checking her lips making sure she has enough of that stuff on. I completely forgot she did that :lol

I must be doing my searches wrong, I've come up with basically baby stuff. I haven't seen any of the things you've linked to.

And how did I miss the K pillow?! I have been so busy planning my wedding that I've missed so much whats been going on here with everyones new wonderful creations.

I have so much to catch up on. I suppose my best bet is to go through the crochetville forums to find things for her hehe :)

I would like to crochet or knit her the gift myself but any gift idea would help. I keep drawing blanks :think

She's seven years old and loves pinks and purples so I thought I could make her something myself with yarn and thread I have on hand but like I said, I'll buy her a gift if I can't find something to make for her.
