How to attach crochet to bobby pins?

Hey guys, I've seen cute crochet appliques on bobby pins for girl's hair. I love these and would like to make some for my DD but cannot figure out how they are attached to a bobby pin.

 

Alligator clips are wide enough to use glue, but the bobby pins seem so small. Is glue used or is there another method?

I haven't seen those, but I think if I were going to make them, I would crochet right around the bobby pin...maybe you could sneak some glue in there, but I don't know...

I'd either stitch on with sewing thread, or crochet over or thread through the crochet when done.

i would just sew them on... with some of the clear quilting thread.

I would add a touch of super glue as well - just to be sure. Just a wee drop is all.

 

I am so tempted to buy some bobby pins next time I am out. They might sell at a bazaar next year.

I have some bobby pins with crocheted flowers on them that we got in Mexico back in 1979. They actually put the bobby pin thru the middle of the flower over one stitch. You can take them off by sliding them off the pin. If I can figure out where I put them, I'll try to take a picture. Hope that helps.
