my felted bag

I found a two cones of wool in a charity shop, the yarn was very rough and un processed, it was from a mill and it looked like it has been in someones garden shed for years! it was smelly,dirty and really greasy. I new it would felt like a dream and I wasnt wrong! the bag took me ages to make, the yarn was so nasty it made my hands dirty and soar! I ended up cutting up a first aid glove and wearing that! I couldnt wait till this nasty raw, smelly monster was in the wash! I put it in twice and it came out like a dream! thick, soft and one heck of a better looking article!

 

I made some flowers and felted them too, and I stiched a faux pearl into the centre of each one!

thanks all, my next felting project is to make a round bottomed bag, more of a bucket shape, its in stripes this time and Im doing it in double crochet with 2 stands held together....it seems alot easier on my hands and not quite so dirty!
