Wow! You guys are fast! Nice socks, Chie and Julie! I don't even have my yarn yet<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/blush.gif" />

I didn't win my ebay auction, but am going to place an order with Smiley Yarns this morning. Anyone know if they are quick shippers?<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/scratchhead.gif" />

I haven't used them so be sure to mention how they ship. I have been getting my sock yarn from <a href="http://elann.com" target="_new">elann.com</a> and am very pleased. Fast ship, it is packaged so well it gives new meaning to waterproof, and loads of colors I can't find around here. Heck, I can't find any sock yarn around here. I'm very tempted to use some baby yarn as Chelle did, those socks were so pretty. My niece wants a pair of socks and that might be the yarn to use for her, great colors! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" />

Hey, Michelle! I haven't worked on mine either! :blush I actually started a sock before I started this crochet-along, but I haven't touched it since! We're going to be away (again! :rolleyes ) this weekend, so the earliest I'll be able to start is next week. :P

I haven't ordered from Smiley's before.

well, I changed my mind about ordering from smileys--they have a minimum order of $30 and a flat ship rate of 8.95--now I know why their prices are so cheap! Oh well.

I am now ordering from either herrschners or knitting-warehouse. Really.

Anyways, wanted to alert you all to this bargain:

<a href="http://www.herrschners.com/products/product.aspx?special=1&sku=340111&id=2&tab=3" target="_new">annie's attic stocking feet book for 3.97</a>

Happy sock crocheting!

Yeah, but if you were ordering a big project it would be easy to get to $30. I'm thinking of ordering from there some time, but I'll want to have two or three projects in mind that I'm ordering for.

Thanks for the bargain alert!

You gals are doing such a good job! Makes me want to try again. My first two attempts weren't so great. Never did get the size I was trying for. The first was way to small and the second was way to big. Maybe now that they have more sock yarn available I'll try again.

My blog is down! :( I've exceeded my allowed monthly traffic quota for June. My blog will be up again July 1st.

Anyhow, I made another sock. I remembered that my sister had shown me some thin red yarn she got in Germany (she lived there for 3 years), so I asked her if I could have it. She only had one ball of it, so Im making these sock ankles pretty small so hopefully I will have enough of it to make two socks with.

I used Red Heart Baby Soft - Sport Weight, 3 ply yarn for the white, and mystery yarn from Germany for the red. It's thin like sport weight though. This sock is a pretty tight fit. And I am making these for my sister, since it IS her yarn afterall :)

Beautiful Julie! I love those colors too.

You all are SO BRAVE, crocheting socks! I guess I ought to get me a pattern and see if I can do it. <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif" /> I don't know why.. but they scare me to DEATH! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/wha.gif" />

They scared me too, Deb, but then I saw a pair someone had made (Pam?) and I thought how beautiful they were. It really is easy, and I don't mind the thought of having to do two every time. Plus, I'll be good and ready when I decide to crochet Christmas stockings! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" />

It's <a href="http://secure.elann.com/productdisp.asp?NAME=Sock+It+to+Me+Collection+Colori&Season=&Company=&Cat=ALLY&ProductType=5&OrderBy=&Count=92" target="_new">Colori</a> from elann.com. The color is Seadrifter. I am using a D hook because the yarn is more like mercerized cotton, so thin but I love it. I ordered more last night. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/sheepjump.gif" />
