Starghan Color Help

Question

I want to make a red, white & blue starghan for my SIL. She loves Americana stuff so thats the reason for the colors. Anyway, I don't know how to arrange the colors in a cool way. Anyone have any ideas?

Well you could go in order and use complete rounds of one color then the next then the last.

You could stripe it up a bit. Use this generator to figure out the stripes. You can pick how many rows of each color you want, even varing it from 2, 3, 4, ect. Once you get the stripes page, just refresh and refresh until you get a combination you like. Or go back and change the number of rows and start over.

So let me get this straight. If I were to make an afghan using one of these mathematical concepts I would use the numbers provided?

 

For example: Lucas numbers using 5 colors

 

Color A would be 2 rows

Color B would be 1 row

Color C would be 3 rows

Color D would be 4 rows

Color E would be 7 rows (could stop here and repeat from Color A)

Color A would be 11 rows

Color B would be 18 rows

Color C would be 29 rows

Color D would be 47 rows

Color E would be 76 rows, etc.?

 

or using 3 colors

Color A would be 2 rows

Color B would be 1 row

Color C would be 3 rows

Color A would be 4 rows

Color B would be 7 rows,

Color C would be 11 rows, etc.? (repeat)

 

I'm just trying to figure out how using this concept would work.

 

Fibonacci Numbers

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233...

Lucas Numbers

2, 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 18, 29, 47, 76, 123, 199...

The Golden Ratio

Generally accepted to be 0.618033.

:cheer Remember that the white will always stand out more than the other two colours because there is the most contrast.

Here is a picture of a Ripple I did with light blue, mid blue, white & navy. You can see how the white stands out.

That's right...and...you don't have to follow the same order with the colors...mix-up the color order. Like...A B C D E...B D A C E...C E A B D...etc
