Hey! Looks great!! I did start something with my bags. I'm not sure what exactly it is that I'm making, I'm just sort of 'winging' it. Unfortunately, I used up the bags I'd cut and have to cut more. Probably won't happen this weekend.... and next week I'll be in Indiana at least half the week. :sigh

Woever things traveling all the time for business is fun, either has never done it or is a sic individual :P I think what I'm making is more of a bowl or basket, in the round. It's pretty big. I was going to try and make a round 'bag' to put wet/muddy shoes in after hiking, but I don't think that's what this will turn out to be. We'll see. I'll try and post a pic this weekend, I've got at least one other project to post.

Ohsewdizzy....I love that bag!!!! Where'd you get the pink bags? I can't find any around here...

The flower adds the perfect touch! :c9 I love it! Love it, love it, love it!!!! :D

:cowgirlthe pink are the dollar store ones... the smelly ones :yuck ... scented and they come in a roll, they come in pink, blue and yellow... but the yellow is kinda white :rolleyes ... now these bags are real thin :eek ... so you know how the directions say to put one loopie round of the cut plastic through the other and pull... well i did two, but not together but one at a time or it will brake :thair that's how thin they are! yikes:P !! it fun to make though and i really enjoyed it!:cheer

I've been wanting to try this but hadn't gotten the time to yet. I also just am about to get rid of a bunch of old video tapes that are worn out and thought about this CAL to try to crochet with them instead of just tossing them out. I'll have to clear a few other things up and then decide what I would want to make with them.

grocerytoteoutside.thumbnail.jpg Expandable bottom when filled

Here is my grocery tote bag that I have been working on. I wanted to create a very usable grocery bag that would be expandable at the bottom for large items as well as being strong and durable. This bag has a tight stitch at the bottom and expands to hold multiple items. I crocheted a mesh stitch on the upper portion and made a wide study strap that fits over your shoulder. I will have the free pattern up soon at my website if you are interested.

Ok, I lost sleep this morning trying to get this bag done, but here it is:

I'm thinking it's going to be great for taking things I need to work. I ususally don't take purses to work, so this one will be sitting out in the car.

Might have to make more, but need some more bags to do it, or I will be making them out of yarn.

i really like how you have some brown ones in there too:yes !!

Actually, there are brown, red, and grey bags mixed in as well. The red and grey ones were all stuck on the bottom.

The store bags I used were Checkers Auto (grey bag), Fred Meyer's (the brown) and all the white ones came from Winco and Wal-Mart (well, I work at Wal-Mart, so have quite a few bags from them).

When I started gathering up bags, I came across the red one. I have no clue as to where I was shopping to get it. But thought I would just put the pieces I cut in a bag and then randomly pulled them out and added it to my "yarn". I think the overall effect came out pretty good.

Everyone's new things are looking great! I wish I had enough time between trips right now to make up more 'yarn'. I really like that term plarn... kinda fun. My DH thinks I'm crazy, buthe gives me that look a lot, so I'm used to it :P

I may or may not get some more work done this weekend, I've got company and a family thing on Sunday. :sigh When will this end?!?!
